Nearly half of new cars sold in Norway this year were fully electric. This is up from 25% during the same time last year.

The top-selling vehicle in Norway is Tesla’s Model 3, according to the Norwegian Road Federation.

Norway hopes to end the sale of gas and diesel engines within the next decade. To help accomplish this, electric vehicles receive significant tax breaks and discounts on tolls.

The policy has elevated brands that offer fully electric vehicles as opposed to hybrid vehicles. Tesla, Nissan, Hyundai and BMW are some of the brands to benefit most.

Tesla sold nearly 3,800 vehicles in Norway this past month. That’s almost a quarter of all cars sold in Norway.
