Winner of $1.5 Billion Lottery Prize has Come Forward

SIMPSONVILLE, So. Car. — The South Carolina lottery announced today that an individual has come forward to claim the near record-setting $1.5 billion prize from last October.

Per the state lottery board, the winner of the massive prize has chose to remain anonymous.

What the board did disclose is that the winner chose the one-time payment option. The payout is the largest in history, coming in at $878 million.

KC Mart in Simpsonville, SC sold the historic ticket between Oct 20 -23. Owner CJ Patel said in an interview with local media that the store had “always been lucky” to him.
